Private sexual health in Leeds

Personal advice. Clear answers. Care centered on you.

Whether you’re considering an STI test or have a concern you’d like to discuss, taking the first step should feel straightforward.

At The Whitehall Clinic, we offer private STI testing and access to experienced GPs in central Leeds. If you’re unsure which appointment to book, our team can help you find an appropriate starting point.

When should you consider a sexual health check?

You may want to arrange a sexual health check if you’ve had sex without a condom, have a new partner, or have been told that a partner has a sexually transmitted infection.

Many STIs cause no symptoms, so feeling well does not necessarily mean you’re free from infection.

If you notice unusual discharge, pain when passing urine, genital sores or other changes, seek medical advice rather than waiting for a routine screening appointment. These symptoms can have several causes and need an appropriate assessment.

Which private STI tests are available?

The Whitehall Clinic offers several STI screening options.

STI Essential: £90

A urine test for chlamydia and gonorrhoea.

STI Blood Screen: £125

A blood testing panel for selected blood-borne infections. Please ask our team to confirm the infections included before booking.

STI Comprehensive: £150

Combines the STI Essential urine test with the STI Blood Screen.

STI Complete: £200

A broader STI testing panel. Contact our team for the full list of tests and sample requirements.

The most suitable option depends on your circumstances. A larger panel is not automatically the right choice for everyone. Please confirm current prices and what is included when booking.

What if you’re unsure which test you need?

You don’t need to work this out alone.

Our private GP service offers appointments for adults aged 18 and over, with access to investigations, prescriptions and specialist referrals where appropriate.

A consultation gives you the opportunity to discuss your concerns and receive advice about the next steps. Tell us when booking if you have symptoms, so we can help you select an appropriate appointment.

Can you get help with other sexual health concerns?

Sexual health concerns can extend beyond STI testing.

Our women’s health service includes advice and assessment for concerns such as pelvic pain, family planning and genitourinary infections. Consultant-led care is available through our gynaecology service.

If you’re uncertain whether we offer the care you need, contact our team before booking.

Why choose The Whitehall Clinic?

Discussing your sexual health can feel personal. You deserve time to explain your concerns and ask questions.

Our clinic is at Wellington Place in central Leeds, around a five-minute walk from Leeds railway station.

Your sexual health questions, answered

Can I have an STI without symptoms?

Yes. Many STIs do not cause noticeable symptoms. Testing may still be appropriate if you feel well, particularly following a possible exposure or if a partner has tested positive.

Does an STI screen check for every infection?

No. Each panel checks for a specific selection of infections. The samples needed may also depend on the type of sexual contact you’ve had. Ask which infections and sites are covered before choosing your test.

Will I need a blood test or a urine sample?

This depends on the tests selected. Our STI Essential screen uses a urine sample, while the STI Blood Screen requires a blood sample. Some infections or symptoms may require other types of assessment, so please discuss your circumstances before booking.
